Grace the Most Misunderstood Word in the Bible

Did you know Jesus did not use the word Grace in either the gospel of Matthew or Mark? It is most certainly a Pauline word that permeates his epistles. But what is this Greek word “Karis”? Here is some of what Paul had to say about it:

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift (karis) of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Rom 6:23

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace (karis) through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Rom 3:23

For by grace (karis) you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. Eph 2:8-9
